維華的目標是讓在美國長大的華裔孩子們有機會學習中華五千年的文化。並協助達成服務海外華人社會的任務, 倡導教育事業, 提高國家社會的文化水準, 使孩子們在德, 智, 體, 群, 美五育方面皆有均衡的發展。只要有興趣學習中國語言文化, 不論國家或政治背景, 宗教信仰, 維華都竭誠的歡迎您加入我們的行列。 

Our Mission is to give children in the United States the opportunity to learn the 5,000 years old Chinese culture, as well as improve the cultural level of the state and society. Anyone interested in learning the Chinese language and culture is welcome, regardless of national background, ethnicity, religious or political beliefs.

History

從一群期望子女不忘母語的父母們決定以交換教學方式教導兒女們學習中文開始，到一九七四年正式在維吉尼亞州註冊成立非營利的教育機構維華中文學校。

四十多年來，在北維社區學院安南岱爾校區 (NVCC Annandale Campus)，維華一直以～維繫中國文化，教育海外僑裔～為目標，在全體義務行政人員以及家長們的共同努力下，維華中文學校不斷的成長茁壯，已成為維吉尼亞州最大，並且是大華府地區歷史最悠久及最優秀的中文學校之一。我們仍將以兢兢業業的態度繼續為下一代的中文教育而努力不懈。

維華中文學校以教授中國語文為主，課程分為繁體字的注音班和簡體字的拼音班兩種，另外還開設了許多課外活動班如跆拳道、太極拳、中國繪畫、及民族舞蹈等。目前全校有三百多位學生。

   A group of Chinese parents founded the Wei Hwa Chinese School in 1974 as a non-profit educational institution. Why? Because these Chinese parents did not want their children forgot their mother tongue. 

   Over fourty years later, Wei Hwa Chinese School has continued to grow and is now one of the oldest and largest Chinese language schools in the Greater Washington DC area. We continue to work diligently to ensure the next generation's success towards Chinese education.

   Wei Hwa Chinese School's courses are divided into traditional Chinese phonetic classes and simplified Chinese pinyin phonetic classes, in addition to offering many extra-curricular activities such as Tae Kwon Do, Tai Chi, Chinese painting, and folk dancing. Currently our school has over 300 students.
